解説
This is one of the panels that decorated the Borgherini bedroom in Florence. They tell the life of Joseph from the Bible. The decorations also included Pontormo's Joseph sold to PotipharIJoseph's Brothers beg for Help/IIJoseph with Jacob in Egypt, as well as Bacchiacca's Joseph receives his Brothers/IIJoseph Pardons his Brothers.Joseph when in prison had interpreted the dreams of the Pharaoh's butler and baker. Here the baker is taken from prison (top right) and led to execution (right), while the butler is shown descending the staircase and serving the Pharaoh (bottom left).
